Sensor compatibility and input flexibility
The E5DC-CX2DSM-016: Accepts RTD and 13 thermocouple types (B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W) plus 0-20mA and 0-10VDC process signals — covers most industrial temperature sensing and linear transducer inputs without an external signal conditioner. Input range spans -200°C to 2300°C depending on sensor type, so it handles cryogenic chambers through high-temperature furnaces on the same unit.
Output architecture — analog plus relay pair
One analog output for a 4-20mA retransmission or valve position signal, plus two relay outputs — typically one for the main control loop and the second for an alarm, event, or secondary heat/cool zone. The event input lets an external dry contact switch between two setpoints or trigger a hold/run state without ladder logic or a comms link.
Panel fit and power supply
Snaps onto standard 35mm DIN rail — no panel cutout needed, so it retrofits into existing enclosure backplanes alongside terminal blocks and contactors. Runs on 24VAC/DC, which is the common control transformer voltage in most industrial panels; no separate 120VAC tap required. IP20 rating means it belongs inside a sealed enclosure — not on a washdown line or outdoors without a secondary cover.
