What the DIN-rail controller brings to the panel
The Omron E5DC-QX2ASM-017 is a DIN-rail-mounted temperature and process controller that accepts RTD and thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W, plus 0–20 mA and 0–10 VDC process signals — one unit covers the sensor types you'd normally stock across three different controllers, which simplifies the BOM for a multi-zone panel. It operates on 100–240 VAC.
Outputs and control logic for the loop
Two relay outputs handle on/off or alarm functions, and a voltage pulse output drives an external SSR for the heating element — that split lets you isolate the power switching from the control logic, which keeps the heat out of the controller box. Control method selection covers on/off and proportional (PID) with auto-tune, which means you can drop it into a simple oven or a critical plastic-extrusion zone and tune the loop without a PC. Heater fault detection is built in — it monitors current draw through the external SSR and flags a broken heater or tripped contactor before the process drifts out of spec.
