DIN-rail temp controller with universal inputs
The Omron E5DC-QX2DBM-002 is a DIN-rail-mount process temperature controller that accepts RTD, thermocouple (Types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W), and analog signals (0-20 mA, 0-10 VDC) across a -200°C to 2300°C span. That range covers everything from cryogenic RTD loops to high-temp furnace Type B thermocouples out here in the grease — one controller for the whole plant's temperature zones. It runs on 24 VAC/DC and packs two relay outputs plus a voltage pulse output for driving an external SSR. The PID control loop handles On/Off or proportional action, and the dual-color LCD backlight shows four characters per row — readable across a panel aisle.
RS-485 Modbus and spring-clamp wiring
RS-485 communication supports CompoWay/F and Modbus protocols, so this controller talks directly to a PLC or SCADA host without an extra gateway. IP20 rated and rated for -10°C to 55°C ambient, it's meant for inside a control cabinet, not a washdown zone. The DIN-rail footprint keeps panel layout clean — snap it on next to the contactors and power supplies.
Active production and sourcing
The closest panel-mount sibling is the E5CC-TQX3D5M-003, which adds heater fault detection and an IP66 front bezel but requires a 45 mm square panel cutout instead of a DIN rail. If your BOM calls for a panel-mount form factor with the same thermocouple and Modbus capability, that's the alternate path — but for a DIN-rail cabinet build, this E5DC is the direct fit.
