Why three relay outputs matter on a DIN rail controller
The Omron E5DC-RX2ABM-002 is a DIN-rail-mount temperature controller that accepts RTD and thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W, plus analog inputs of 0-20 mA or 0-10 VDC, covering the full range from -200°C to 2300°C. Three relay outputs let you drive a heating element, a cooling contactor, and an alarm or event output from a single unit — no need for a separate alarm module.
Spring terminals and Modbus for panel wiring speed
This cuts wiring time on a multi-loop panel compared to screw-clamp controllers. RS-485 communication supports both Modbus and Omron's CompoWay/F protocol, so the controller integrates directly with a PLC or SCADA system over the same twisted-pair bus. No gateway needed for a Modbus RTU master. The dual-color LCD backlight shows process value and setpoint simultaneously — 0.334-inch (8.50 mm) and 0.314-inch (8.00 mm) characters, readable from a few metres across the panel aisle.
