What it is and what it does
The Omron E5DC-RX2DBM-002 is a DIN-rail-mounted process controller from the E5DC series. It reads RTD, thermocouple (B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W), 0–20 mA, or 0–10 VDC signals – covering temperatures from -200 °C to 2300 °C. Three relay outputs handle on/off or PID control, and the dual-color LCD shows both process value and setpoint. Communication is over RS-485 using either CompoWay/F or Modbus protocol, so it talks directly to a PLC or SCADA. DIN rail mount, IP20. Spring terminals; supply 24VAC/DC.
How it compares to the panel-mount E5CC
If your BOM originally called for an E5CC (panel-mount) like the E5CC-CQ3D5M-005, the E5DC-RX2DBM-002 will not drop into the same cutout. The E5CC requires a square 45 mm panel hole and uses screw terminals; the E5DC clips onto a DIN rail and uses spring terminals. The E5CC carries IP66 for wet locations; the E5DC is IP20, strictly indoor panel. Functionally both handle the same sensor types and control methods, but the mounting and termination are completely different – expect to rework the enclosure and wiring if swapping.
Integration notes
RS-485 communicates via CompoWay/F or Modbus. 3 relay outputs. PID or On/Off control.
