The E5DC-RX2DSM-617 is a DIN-rail mounted temperature/process controller from Omron's E5DC-600 series. It accepts RTD and thermocouples (types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W) as well as analog inputs (0–20 mA, 0–10 VDC) spanning -200°C to 2300°C. Control method is On/Off or PID, with three relay outputs. Powered by 24VAC/DC and terminated via screw terminals, it carries IP20 ingress protection. The dual-color LCD backlit display shows two rows of four characters each.
Panel integration and mounting
Screw terminals accept solid or stranded wire directly; no additional connector or base socket needed. Because the enclosure is IP20, the controller belongs inside a rated cabinet, not on the machine face.
Comparison: E5DC vs. E5EC panel-mount sibling
The E5EC-QR4D5M-010 is a common cross-shop candidate with five relay outputs plus a voltage SSR output, a larger display (18.00 mm high characters), and IP66 front. But it requires a 92 × 45 mm panel cutout — a completely different installation. If your panel layout already uses DIN-rail controllers and you only need three relays, the E5DC is the direct fit; the E5EC would require a panel cutout and different wiring layout. The E5CC-CX3A5M-004 offers analog output and RS-485 communications but runs on 100–240 VAC and is also panel-mount (45 × 45 mm cutout). It lacks heater fault detection, which the E5DC includes.
