Input flexibility and output complement
The E5EC-CC4A5M-000 accepts RTD, thermocouple types B/E/J/K/L/N/PLII/R/S/T/U/W, plus 0-20mA and 0-10VDC process signals, covering the full range from -200°C to 2300°C. That means one controller handles everything from cryogenic RTD loops to high-temp furnace thermocouples without swapping hardware. Outputs are split: two analog channels for driving SCRs or valve positioners, plus four relay outputs for alarm annunciation or on/off staging. The relay count alone handles multi-zone alarm schemes or cascaded heater stages without external expanders.
Supply and environmental rating
Runs on 100-240VAC — no separate 24V supply needed for the controller itself, though field transmitters still need their own loop power. The IP66 front panel rating means the display and keypad survive washdown in food or pharma lines; the rear terminals are IP20, so the enclosure cutout seal is the wet-end barrier. The panel cutout is 92mm x 45mm — standard 1/4 DIN width, so it drops into existing cutouts without adapter plates.
Control modes and display
Control method is selectable between On/Off and proportional (PID). The LCD shows tri-color characters with backlight — three rows of four digits each, with character heights from 0.307" to 0.710" so the process value, setpoint, and output status are readable from across the panel.
