Sensor compatibility and input range
The E5EC-CC4A5M-004 accepts RTD and 13 thermocouple types (B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W) plus 0–20 mA and 0–10 VDC linear process signals — covers the full range of common temperature sensors and analog transmitters in a single unit. Span covers -200°C to 2300°C depending on sensor type, so the same controller handles cryogenic freezer loops and kiln zones without a hardware change.
Outputs and control loop
Two analog outputs drive SCRs or valve positioners; four relay outputs handle on/off stages, alarms, or heater-break indication — enough to manage a multi-zone electric furnace or a cascade loop with separate alarm thresholds. Control method is On/Off or full PID with auto-tune, so the same part works for simple tank-level switching and for tight temperature regulation on a plastic extruder barrel.
Communications and event input
RS-485 port speaks both Modbus and Omron CompoWay/F — ties into a PLC-based line control or a standalone SCADA network without a protocol converter. The event input lets an external contact (door switch, safety relay, upstream sensor) force a pre-set action — useful for latching a hold state during a washdown cycle or resetting the PID after a batch change.
Panel cutout is 92 x 45 mm — the standard 1/4 DIN horizontal footprint — and the screw terminals accept up to 14 AWG; drops into an existing E5EC panel cutout without rework. IP66 front rating means the face and bezel survive hose-down cleaning in food or pharma environments; the body is rated for -10°C to 55°C ambient.
