Universal input, multi-output architecture for process loops
The Omron E5EC-CC4A5M-014 accepts RTD, thermocouple types B/E/J/K/L/N/PLII/R/S/T/U/W, plus 0-20 mA and 0-10 VDC process signals — one SKU covers temperature and linear process loops without a signal conditioner card. Two analog outputs and four relay outputs let it drive a valve positioner or SCR power controller while simultaneously alarming on high/low process deviation — that's another SKU I don't need for a separate alarm unit. The RS-485 port speaks Modbus and CompoWay/F, so it drops into a PLC-based line control scheme or a standalone HMI network without a protocol gateway.
Panel fit and environmental sealing
Panel cutout is 92.00 mm x 45.00 mm — the standard 1/4 DIN footprint. Screw terminals on the back; no special crimp tool needed for field wiring. IP66 rating on the face means it withstands washdown spray in food or chemical plants — the gasket seals against the panel, not just the case.
The E5EC-CC4A5M-014 carries an event input for remote run/hold or alarm reset, a feature not present on the base E5EC-CC4A5M-000 variant — if your panel uses a dry-contact for start interlock, this is the one.
