Input flexibility for mixed-signal lines
The E5EC-CC4D5M-014 handles RTD, thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W, plus 0–20 mA and 0–10 VDC process signals — one part number covers the sensor mix on a packaging or batch line without stocking separate TC and RTD controllers. Input range spans -200°C to 2300°C for thermocouples, so a Type K (range -200 to 1372°C) or Type R/S (high-temp furnace work) both fit within the same unit.
Outputs and loop control
Two analog outputs (4–20 mA or 0–10 V) drive a SCR or IGBT power controller for the heating element, while four relay outputs handle alarm annunciation, event sequencing, or secondary heater/cooler stages — no need for an external signal conditioner. Control method is On/Off or full PID with auto-tune, so the same controller works for simple tank-level hold or a closed-loop extruder zone that needs proportional band and integral reset.
Panel fit and environmental seal
Panel cutout is 92.00 mm x 45.00 mm — the standard 1/4 DIN footprint — and the IP66-rated front bezel seals against washdown splashes and dust in food or chemical processing areas.
Fieldbus and event handling
RS-485 port supports both CompoWay/F (Omron legacy) and Modbus RTU — the default slave address is 1, settable via front panel or configuration software. The event input can be wired to a remote pushbutton or PLC digital output to latch a setpoint change, reset a peak-hold, or trigger a recipe recall without opening the cabinet door.
