Sensor input and control logic
The Omron E5EC-CQ4A5M-000 is an active-production temperature and process controller accepting RTD, thermocouples (B/E/J/K/L/N/PLII/R/S/T/U/W), 0–20 mA, and 0–10 VDC inputs, covering a span from -200°C to 2300°C. Its control method supports On/Off or proportional (PID) output. Outputs: analog, four relays, and voltage for external SSR. Operating temperature range -10°C to 55°C. Supply is 100–240 VAC; termination is via screw terminals. The front panel carries an IP66 seal (dust-tight and water-resistant), suitable for washdown environments.
Panel fit and integration delta vs E5CC siblings
The smaller E5CC-RX3A5M-003 shares the same sensor input range and PID control logic but fits a square 45 mm × 45 mm cutout and includes RS-485 communications (CompoWay/F, Modbus). The E5EC requires a rectangular 92 mm × 45 mm panel cutout and does not list an onboard serial interface; any serial integration would need an option module. Output configuration differs: the E5CC-RX3A5M-003 provides four relays only, while the E5EC-CQ4A5M-000 adds an analog output and a dedicated SSR drive voltage. The E5CC-CX3A5M-004 adds an analog output but reduces relays to three and adds an event input. If your design requires an analog retransmission or external SSR without an additional converter, the E5EC has that on board. Footprint alone prevents a direct panel swap between the E5EC (92×45 mm) and any E5CC (45×45 mm) variant without cutting a new hole.
