Sensor input flexibility and control loop
The E5EC-CQ4A5M-010 accepts RTD and thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W, plus analog signals 0-20mA and 0-10VDC — covers the common sensor suite for ovens, furnaces, extruders, and environmental chambers without needing a signal conditioner. Control method is selectable between On/Off and proportional (PID) — the PID loop auto-tunes on first power-up, which saves commissioning time when the thermal load characteristics aren't known ahead.
Outputs and load wiring
Four relay outputs handle direct switching of contactors, solenoid valves, or alarm circuits — the analog output can drive a proportional valve or SCR power controller, and the voltage output fires an external SSR for high-cycle heater loads. Screw-terminal wiring on a panel-mount body with a 92x45mm cutout — the terminals accept up to 14 AWG, and the IP66 front seal means washdown spray from a hose won't get past the gasket.
Built-in diagnostics and supply range
Heater fault detection monitors the current draw on the load circuit and flags a broken heater element or SSR short — this is a common failure mode in electric furnaces and hot-runner systems that otherwise runs unnoticed until the process drifts.
