What sensor types does this controller accept?
The E5EC-CR2DSM-800 handles RTD and ten thermocouple types (B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U) plus 0-20 mA and 0-10 VDC analog inputs — covers most process loops without an external signal conditioner. Input range spans -200°C to 2300°C on the thermocouple side, so it works for both cryogenic and high-temp kiln applications.
Outputs and control strategy
Two analog outputs drive external SCRs or valve positioners; four relay outputs handle on/off stages, alarms, or event triggers — enough I/O for a multi-zone cascade without add-on modules. Control method switches between On/Off and proportional (PID) with auto-tune — set it up for a simple bake oven or a tight thermal profile on a plastic extruder.
Panel fit and environment
1/8 DIN cutout is 92 x 45 mm — standard hole pattern, drops into existing panels without rework. Screw terminals on the back, no special crimp tool needed. IP66 front rating means it takes washdown spray from a hose — fine for food processing or wash-down areas where a standard controller would short. Runs on 24 VAC or DC — same rail as the PLC or sensor supply, no separate transformer winding required.
Display readability
Tri-color LCD backlight with three rows of 4 characters each — the largest digits are 18 mm tall, readable from across a control room aisle.
