Controller fit for thermal process loops
The Omron E5EC-CX4A5M-005 is a current-production process and temperature controller from the E5EC series, rated for 100-240 VAC supply and delivering four relay outputs plus an analog output for valve or drive positioning. It accepts a wide range of sensor inputs—RTD and thermocouples (B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W) covering -200°C to 2300°C, plus 0-20 mA or 0-10 VDC analog signals—so one SKU can handle multiple loop types on a line. The tri-color LCD shows three rows of four characters each, making process value, setpoint, and status visible at a glance without scrolling. Event input provides a hardwired interrupt for cycle-stop or alarm reset, critical for deterministic line control.
This controller is sized for panel mounting in a 92x45 mm rectangular cutout. The IP66 front face stands up to wash-downs and dusty cabinet environments common in food, packaging, and automotive plant floors. Screw terminals simplify field wiring, and the On/Off and PID control modes suit everything from bake ovens to mold-temperature regulation.
