The E5EC-CX4D5M-004: The RS-485 port supports Modbus and Omron CompoWay/F protocols at the standard baud rates, allowing direct connection to a PLC or SCADA host without a protocol converter.
Comparison to E5CC siblings
The closest functional peer from the smaller E5CC family is E5CC-CX3A5M-005: it shares the same thermocouple/RTD/analog input range and PID control, but has three relays (not four), a 100–240 VAC supply, and a 45 x 45 mm square cutout. The E5EC-CX4D5M-004 provides an extra relay, runs on 24 VAC/DC, and requires a larger rectangular panel hole. A cabinet designed for the E5CC cannot accept this controller without re-cutting the panel. Another 24 VAC/DC variant, E5CC-CQ3D5M-005, adds a voltage output for external SSR but retains the three-relay count and 45 mm square cutout. Neither is a drop-in substitute due to the cutout and output-count differences.
