What this controller brings to a panel
The Omron E5EC-PR2ASM-804 is a 1/16 DIN process and temperature controller that accepts RTD and thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W, plus 0-20mA or 0-10VDC analog signals. Four relay outputs give you separate control of heating, cooling, alarm, and event functions without adding external interposing relays for most loads up to the relay contact rating. The RS-485 port speaks both CompoWay/F and Modbus protocols, so it drops into existing plant networks without a protocol converter.
Panel cutout is 92.00mm x 45.00mm — the standard 1/16 DIN footprint that fits existing punch patterns on retrofit jobs. The IP66-rated front bezel handles washdown and dust exposure common in food, beverage, and chemical processing lines; the screw-terminal rear stays inside the enclosure.
Control loop and programming
On/off or proportional (PID) control method with auto-tune — set it for simple thermostat duty or let it self-optimize for thermal process loops like extruder barrels or oven zones. The dual-color LCD backlight shows process value and setpoint simultaneously; the 18.00mm upper and 11.00mm lower characters are readable from across a machine cell. Event input on the screw terminals lets an external contact or PLC digital output trigger a pre-programmed setpoint change or control mode switch — useful for recipe changes or standby mode.
