What this controller does — and what the outputs mean for your panel
The Omron E5EC-QQ4A5M-000 is a panel-mount process and temperature controller from the E5EC series. It accepts a universal input covering RTD, thermocouple types B/E/J/K/L/N/PLII/R/S/T/U/W, plus 0–20 mA or 0–10 VDC analog signals — one instrument handles nearly any sensor you throw at a panel cutout. Outputs are the key differentiator here: four relay outputs for on/off switching of contactors, solenoid valves, or alarm circuits, plus two voltage outputs (external SSR drive) for solid-state switching of heaters. That's six control channels in a single 92×45 mm package — enough for a multi-zone oven or a kiln with independent alarm thresholds. Control method is switchable between On/Off and proportional (PID), so it fits both simple level control and closed-loop temperature regulation that needs to hold a setpoint within a fraction of a degree.
Panel fit and environmental sealing
Mounts into a rectangular 92.00 mm × 45.00 mm panel cutout. Screw-terminal connections on the back. Front panel carries an IP66 rating — dust-tight and protected against hose-directed water. That makes it suitable for washdown areas in food processing or chemical dosing skids where a standard IP54 controller would fail from moisture ingress through the bezel. The tri-color LCD backlight (green, orange, red) lets operators read status from across the line — green for normal operation, red for alarm, without needing to check the process value digits.
