The E5EC-QQ4A5M-009: The LCD display shows three rows of four characters each in tri-color backlight — the top row is 18.00 mm tall for the process variable, the middle 11.00 mm for the setpoint, and the bottom 7.80 mm for status or loop output. That layout lets an operator read the PV from across a panel without squinting.
Relay and SSR output mix for heater control
Four relay outputs and two voltage (external SSR) outputs are on the screw terminals. The relays handle on/off switching for contactors or alarms; the voltage outputs fire solid-state relays directly, which is the typical wiring for zero-cross SCR packs driving resistive heater loads. The heater fault detection feature monitors the load current via an external CT and flags a broken heater element — that is a predictive maintenance input that the spectrum doesn't lie about when the current drops below the threshold. The supply is 100-240 VAC, so it runs on any standard line voltage without a separate control transformer.
RS-485 Modbus and panel cutout fit
RS-485 communication supports CompoWay/F and Modbus protocols. That means the controller talks directly to a PLC or SCADA host over a two-wire bus — no protocol converter needed. The panel cutout is 92.00 mm x 45.00 mm rectangular, which is the standard 1/4 DIN footprint; it drops into the same hole as any E5EC variant without re-cutting the panel. The front bezel is rated IP66 — dust-tight and protected against hose-directed water. That makes it suitable for food-and-bev washdown zones or outdoor cabinets, provided the gasket is seated properly against the panel surface.
