Panel-mount controller with universal inputs and Modbus
The Omron E5EC-QQ4D5M-009 is a 1/4 DIN panel-mount process and temperature controller accepting RTD and thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W, plus analog signals 0–20 mA and 0–10 VDC. It operates on a 24 VAC/DC supply and communicates via RS-485 using CompoWay/F or Modbus protocols — the Modbus RTU support means it drops directly into a PLC-controlled line without a protocol converter.
Output configuration and control flexibility
This variant carries four relay outputs and two voltage (SSR drive) outputs, giving it the ability to drive a contactor for a heater element while simultaneously firing a solid-state relay for a secondary zone — a mixed-output arrangement the all-relay E5EC-RR4D5M-010 cannot match. Control methods include On/Off and proportional (PID) with autotune, covering simple threshold switching through to closed-loop process regulation.
IP66 front panel and event inputs
The front panel carries an IP66 rating — dust-tight and protected against hose-directed water — so it suits food-processing or washdown environments where a standard controller would fail from moisture ingress behind the bezel. Event input and heater fault detection are built in: the event input can latch a setpoint change or start/stop control, and the heater current monitor trips an alarm if the load circuit opens.
