Panel-mount controller for multi-sensor process loops
The E5EC-QR4A5M-011: It ships with an event input for external triggers and heater fault detection to alert on broken loads — two features that often save an add-on module or PLC input. The output stage is a relay (rated per Omron's 5 A resistive) plus a voltage pulse for an external SSR, giving you a choice between a direct drive or a solid-state front-end for high-cycle loads. The front panel carries an IP66 seal — dust-tight and water-resistant — so it holds up in washdown or dusty panel environments.
How it compares to the E5CC series
The E5CC versions include RS-485 communications (CompoWay/F, Modbus); the E5EC-QR4A5M-011 does not, so if serial networking is needed, stay with the E5CC. On the plus side, the E5EC offers a tri-color backlit LCD, three rows of four digits (0.710", 0.433", 0.307" character heights), while the E5CC uses dual-color displays with smaller digits. The E5CC-RX3A5M-003 lacks an event input; if you need that trigger (e.g., for remote setpoint change or run/hold toggle), the E5EC is the correct choice.
