Five relay outputs handle on/off or alarm functions (e.g., high-temp trip, heater break alarm), while the dedicated voltage output drives an external SSR for PID-controlled heating — a common split for electric furnace zones where the SSR handles the switching duty cycle and the relays manage safety interlocks. The tri-color LCD backlight shows three rows of four characters each — the top row at 18 mm height is readable from several metres across a control panel, useful for operators scanning multiple loops.
