What this controller handles
The Omron E5EC-QR4D5M-000 is a 1/16 DIN process and temperature controller that accepts a wide range of sensor inputs — RTD, thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W, plus 0-20 mA and 0-10 VDC process signals — so it covers everything from a J-type thermocouple in an oven to a 4-20 mA pressure transmitter on a pump skid. Control output is a mix of five relay contacts for on/off or alarm duties and a voltage pulse for driving an external solid-state relay, giving you the flexibility to switch contactors directly or fire an SSR into a heating element without an interposing relay. The LCD display shows three rows of four characters each, with tri-color backlighting — you can assign the color to change on alarm or process status, which is a quick visual cue on a panel with multiple controllers.
Panel cutout is 92.00 mm × 45.00 mm, the standard 1/16 DIN footprint. The IP66 front-panel rating means the face seals against washdown spray and dust ingress — suitable for food-processing or washdown zones where a standard IP54 controller would fail. Screw-terminal connections on the rear — no spring-cage option, so factor in the extra torque time during panel build-out.
