What this controller does and what it needs
The Omron E5EC-QR4D5M-011 is a 1/16 DIN process and temperature controller accepting RTD and thermocouple inputs (types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W) plus linear 0–20 mA or 0–10 VDC signals, covering a span from -200°C up to 2300°C depending on the sensor. It runs on a 24 VAC/DC supply — common in industrial panels where a single 24 VDC bus powers both the controller and downstream logic — and delivers control via five relay outputs plus a voltage pulse for an external SSR. The control method is selectable between simple On/Off and full Proportional (PID) with auto-tuning, so it handles everything from a resistive oven to a fast-responding injection mold zone. The IP66-rated front panel means the electronics are sealed against washdown spray and dust ingress — a requirement for food-processing or pharmaceutical environments where the panel face gets hosed down.
Panel cutout is 92.00 mm x 45.00 mm. Termination is via screw terminals, so field wiring with ferruled stranded or solid conductors is straightforward; no special crimp tool needed.
