What it is
The E5EC-QX2ABM-008: The LCD display shows up to three rows of four characters each, with tri-color backlighting – useful for alarming or status indication at a distance. Rated for 100–240 VAC supply and RS-485 communications, it supports On/Off or PID control, and is housed in an IP66-rated panel-mount case with spring-clamp terminals.
How it compares to the E5CC series
Output configuration differs: the E5EC provides three relay outputs and two voltage (SSR drive) outputs, whereas the E5CC-RX3A5M-003 has four relay outputs and no dedicated voltage output. If you need to drive two external SSRs directly, the E5EC is the better fit without adding interface relays. The E5CC also uses screw terminals; the E5EC uses spring-clamp terminals, which can speed panel wiring but require a different termination tool set.
Panel integration notes
The IP66-rated front bezel and gasket allow installation in washdown or high-humidity areas, provided the operating ambient stays within -10°C to 55°C. RS-485 communication uses the standard Omron protocol (CompoWay/F or Modbus – verify configuration dip switches). Heater fault detection monitors the current transformer input for broken heater elements.
