What this controller covers
The Omron E5EC-QX4D5M-011 is a 1/8 DIN process and temperature controller accepting RTD, thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W, plus 0–20 mA and 0–10 VDC analog inputs — so it handles everything from cryogenic -200°C up to 2300°C furnace work on a single unit. That breadth means one BOM line covers most temperature loops on a line; no need to swap modules for J vs K vs RTD. It runs on 24 VAC/DC, the standard control voltage in most panels, and delivers four relay outputs plus a voltage output for driving an external SSR. The four relays can handle on/off or PID stages — typical for a multi-zone oven or a heater/cooler pair with alarm.
The front panel carries an IP66 rating — dust-tight and protected against hose-down. That makes it suitable for food-and-bev washdown zones or any panel face that gets sprayed. The cutout is a standard 92 × 45 mm rectangle, the common 1/8 DIN footprint; it drops into the same hole as any E5EC or E5CC. Screw terminals on the back keep wiring straightforward for panel builders. The tri-color LCD backlight shows three rows of four characters each — process value, setpoint, and a status line — readable from a few meters away.
