Active production — relay/voltage combo, 24V supply
The E5EC-QX4DBM-010: It accepts a wide input range covering RTD and thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W, plus 0–20 mA and 0–10 VDC process signals — one unit handles most sensor types found on a typical machine. The -200°C to 2300°C span means it works for both cryogenic and high-temperature furnace loops without needing a different controller model.
Dual output type — relay for contactors, voltage for SSR
Five relay outputs handle direct switching of contactors, solenoid valves, or alarm circuits, while the voltage output drives an external solid-state relay for faster, zero-cross switching of heater loads. The heater fault detection feature monitors current draw on the load side and flags a broken heater element or SSR short — saves a line-down trip to find a dead zone in an oven or extruder barrel.
IP66 front panel, spring terminals, 24V universal supply
IP66 ingress protection on the front panel means the display and keypad survive washdown in food-processing or chemical environments — the gasket seals against the panel cutout. 24 VAC/DC supply lets it run off a common control transformer or a 24 VDC PSU without a separate power module.
Panel cutout and display — 92x45 mm, tri-color LCD
Three rows of four characters each with heights of 0.710", 0.433", and 0.307" show process value, setpoint, and status simultaneously; the tri-color backlight changes from green to red on alarm for quick visual scan across a multi-zone panel. Operating temperature range is -10°C to 55°C — adequate for most indoor control cabinets; no derating needed unless the enclosure ambient exceeds 55°C.
