What the E5EC-RX2ABM-008 is and what it controls
The Omron E5EC-RX2ABM-008 is a panel-mount temperature controller from the E5EC series, accepting inputs from RTDs, thermocouples (Types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W), and analog signals (0-20mA, 0-10VDC) over a range of -200°C to 2300°C. It delivers four relay outputs for on/off or proportional (PID) control, with RS-485 communications for networked process loops, and includes heater fault detection as a built-in diagnostic.
Relay outputs, supply, and wiring
The four relay outputs switch loads directly — no external SSR needed for basic on/off or time-proportioned PID control. The 100-240VAC supply covers standard plant power without a separate transformer. Spring terminals speed panel wiring: strip, push, and the clamp holds — no screw tightening. The IP66-rated front face resists washdown and dust ingress, so the controller can live on a machine panel exposed to splashes.

The rectangular cutout is 92.00mm x 45.00mm — a standard 1/4 DIN footprint. The tri-color LCD backlight shows three rows of four characters each, with character heights of 0.710", 0.433", and 0.307" for process value, setpoint, and status.
