Sensor compatibility and input range
The E5EC-RX2ABM-010: Accepts RTD, thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W, plus 0-20 mA and 0-10 VDC linear inputs — covers the common process sensors without an external signal conditioner. The -200°C to 2300°C span handles cryogenic to high-temp furnace loops on one unit, though the RTD bottom end and type-B top end define the practical limits.
Heater fault detection and relay output count
Built-in heater fault detection monitors the load current via an external CT — flags a broken heater element before the process drifts out of spec. Four relay outputs (SPST-NO typical) drive contactors or SSRs; the fifth output on the E5EC-RX4ABM-011 variant adds a separate alarm relay if you need independent fault annunciation.
Panel fit and termination
Panel cutout is 92.00 mm x 45.00 mm — standard 1/4 DIN horizontal; drops into existing E5EC or E5CC cutouts without rework. Spring terminal wiring vs the screw-terminal E5EC-RX2ASM-800: spring clamps save 10-15 seconds per wire on the assembly line and hold under vibration better than screw clamps. IP66 front panel seal means the controller face survives washdown spray — food, beverage, or pharmaceutical panel environments where a hose-down schedule is standard.
