Universal input, 5-relay output, panel-mount PID controller
The Omron E5EC-RX4ABM-000 is a panel-mount process and temperature controller that accepts RTD, thermocouple types B/E/J/K/L/N/PLII/R/S/T/U/W, 0-20mA, and 0-10VDC inputs — covering the range from -200°C to 2300°C. Five relay outputs let it drive heaters, valves, or alarms directly without an interposing relay for each channel. The IP66-rated front panel means the controller face can handle washdown in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical lines — the seal keeps moisture out of the display and keypad. Spring terminals on the rear cut wiring time compared to screw-clamp; no tool needed beyond a screwdriver for the release button.
PID and on/off control with tri-color display
Control method is selectable between on/off and proportional (PID) — the PID auto-tune function sets gains without a separate configuration tool. The tri-color LCD backlight (green, orange, red) changes with process status, so an operator can read deviation from across the panel. Three display rows show process value (18mm high), setpoint (11mm), and a third parameter (7.8mm) — each row 4 characters. The 92mm x 45mm rectangular cutout is standard for the E5EC family; existing panel holes for earlier Omron 1/8 DIN controllers usually accept it with minimal rework.
