Panel fit and input flexibility
The E5EC-RX4D5M-010 fits a standard 92.00 mm x 45.00 mm rectangular panel cutout — that's a 1/4 DIN footprint, so it drops into existing panel holes without rework. Screw terminals mean no special crimp tooling on the line; strip, torque, and go. It accepts RTD, thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W, plus 0–20 mA and 0–10 VDC process signals. One controller covers both temperature and analog process loops, reducing spare-part SKUs on the shelf.
Five relay outputs — what they mean for control
Five relay outputs give you direct on/off or PID control for heating and cooling zones, plus an alarm output, all without external SSRs. The fifth relay can serve as a second alarm or a manual override — useful when a zone needs independent high-limit shutdown. Heater fault detection (included) monitors the load current and flags a broken heater or SSR short before the process drifts. Event input lets an external PLC or safety relay force a preset run/hold/stop state — a common requirement in batch processes with interlock chains.
Supply and environmental rating
Runs on 24 VAC/DC — a single supply rail that's standard in most control panels, so no separate transformer winding for the controller. The IP66 front panel rating means it handles washdown in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical lines; the gasket seals against hose-directed water, not just splash. Operating range is -10°C to 55°C, which covers most indoor panel environments without derating. The tri-color LCD backlight shows green for normal, red for alarm, and amber for manual mode — operators read the state from across the panel without checking the screen.
