Panel fit and control capability
The Omron E5EC-RX4DBM-008 is a panel-mount temperature controller that fits a standard 92x45mm rectangular cutout — the same footprint as other E5EC variants, so no rework if swapping into an existing panel hole. It accepts inputs from RTDs and thermocouple types B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W plus 0–20mA and 0–10VDC analog signals, covering -200°C to 2300°C. Five relay outputs give you independent control and alarm channels — enough for a main heat output, a cool output, and three alarm or event annunciators without adding external relay packs.
Comms and supply voltage
RS-485 communications are built in. The 24VAC/DC supply rail is common in industrial panels. The spring-terminal wiring block speeds panel assembly and field replacement — no screw torque to verify, just strip and push.
Heater fault detection and IP66 front
Heater fault detection monitors the current loop and flags a broken heater or SSR short before the process drifts. The IP66-rated front panel withstands washdown splashes and dust — suitable for food, beverage, or pharmaceutical lines where the cabinet face gets hosed down. The tri-color LCD backlight changes color based on process status (run, alarm, manual mode), giving operators a quick visual read across the plant floor. Three rows of four characters each show PV, SV, and a parameter simultaneously.
The closest functional sibling is the E5EC-RX4ABM-008, which swaps the 24VAC/DC supply for 100–240VAC. Everything else — cutout, relay count, RS-485, heater fault detection — is identical, so the choice comes down to your panel voltage rail.
