Universal input, four-relay output
The Omron E5EC-TCX4A5M-000 is a 1/4 DIN process and temperature controller that accepts RTD, ten thermocouple types (B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W), plus 0-20mA and 0-10VDC linear inputs — so it covers nearly any plant-floor signal without a signal conditioner between the sensor and the controller. The input range spans -200°C to 2300°C for temperature sensors and 0-20mA or 0-10VDC for process transmitters. Outputs are four relays plus one analog output — the relays can drive contactors or alarms directly, while the analog output sends a retransmitted process value or control signal to a chart recorder or secondary loop.
IP66 front panel, screw terminals
The front panel carries an IP66 rating — dust-tight and protected against hose-directed water — so it can be mounted directly on a panel face in a washdown area without a separate cover or membrane keypad. Termination is via screw terminals; the panel cutout is a standard 92.00mm x 45.00mm rectangle, which drops into the same 1/4 DIN punch as most Omron E5EC and E5CC controllers. The tri-color LCD backlight shows three rows of four characters each — the top row at 18.00mm height is readable from across a control room aisle.
Active production, no direct replacement
There is no official successor or cross-reference from Omron; this is the current-model variant with analog plus relay output and no communications option.
