Panel fit and supply voltage decision
The E5EC-TRR4D5M-008 runs on 24 VAC/DC, which keeps the control transformer small and lets it share a 24 V rail with sensors and PLC I/O in the same enclosure. The rectangular panel cutout is 92.00 mm x 45.00 mm — the standard 1/4 DIN footprint for this class, so it drops into existing cutouts without rework. The front panel carries an IP66 rating — dust-tight and protected against hose-directed water. That matters for washdown zones in food, beverage, or chemical processing where a standard NEMA 4X front is expected.
Input flexibility and control loop
This controller accepts RTD and 13 thermocouple types (B, E, J, K, L, N, PLII, R, S, T, U, W) covering -200°C to 2300°C, plus 0–20 mA and 0–10 VDC process signals. That range spans everything from cryogenic storage to furnace exhaust, so one part number covers most sensor types on a line. Control method is On/Off or proportional (PID). The six relay outputs handle direct heater switching or alarm annunciation without external interposing relays for moderate loads. RS-485 communication supports both CompoWay/F and Modbus protocols. That lets the controller report setpoint, PV, and alarm status to a PLC or SCADA host over a standard two-wire bus without a protocol converter.
Heater fault detection and event input
Built-in heater fault detection monitors the load current and flags a broken heater or SSR short before the process drifts out of spec. The event input can trigger a preset value change or alarm mask from a dry contact — useful for recipe switching or manual override without touching the front panel.
