The Omron F3SG-4RA0880-14 is a Type 4 safety light curtain from the F3SG-RA series, built for finger detection at 14 mm resolution. That 14 mm beam pitch means it catches fingers reaching into the hazard zone — finger-protection class per IEC 61496-1 — so it goes on access points where hand entry is possible but arm/body passage isn't. The 880 mm protective height covers a standard machine opening; 87 beams spaced at 10 mm pitch give you that coverage. Operating range runs from 0.3 m out to 10.0 m, which fits most machine guarding layouts — short enough for a press feed, long enough for a palletizer infeed. Supply is 24 VDC, standard for safety circuits. Blanking and muting functions are built in, so you can let a workpiece pass through the field without tripping the machine, or program out fixed obstructions like a robot arm.
