What this light curtain covers
The Omron F3SG-4SRA0440-14-F is a type-4 safety light curtain from the F3SG-SR series, rated for finger protection with a 14 mm detection capability. That 14 mm resolution means it catches individual fingers reaching into the hazard zone — finger-protection class per IEC 61496. The 440 mm protective height and 0.3 m to 10.0 m operating range cover a standard machine access opening; the 43 beams at 10 mm pitch give you that resolution across the full height. Blank and mute functions are built in — blanking lets you optically mask fixed obstructions (like a machine frame member) without losing the rest of the field, and muting temporarily suspends the safety output during a material pass-through. That saves an external bypass module on a conveyor infeed or palletiser cell. Runs on 24 VDC, rated for -30°C to 55°C ambient, and carries IP65/IP67/IP67G ingress protection.
