What this light curtain does
The Omron F3SG-4SRA0480-25 is a type-4 safety light curtain from the F3SG-SR series, rated for hand protection with a 25 mm detection capability. That 25 mm figure means it catches fingers reaching into the hazard zone — finger-protection class per IEC 61496-1. The 480 mm protective height and 24 beams at 20 mm pitch define the guarded area; the 0.3 m to 20.0 m operating range gives flexibility for machine guarding across short or long distances. Supply is 24 VDC, standard for safety circuits. The IP65/IP67/IP67G rating means the sensor body and optics withstand washdown — suitable for food-and-bev lines where oil and water spray are routine. Blanking and muting functions are built in, so you can program out fixed obstructions or bypass the curtain during material pass-through without a separate controller.
