The Omron F3SG-4SRB0440-14-F is a Type 4 safety light curtain from the F3SG-SR series, built for point-of-operation guarding where a 14 mm detection capability catches individual fingers reaching into the hazard zone — finger-protection class per IEC 61496-1. That 14 mm resolution means it triggers on an opaque object as small as 14 mm diameter, so it stops the machine before a finger contacts the danger point. Protective height of 440 mm with 43 beams at 10 mm pitch covers a vertical zone just under half a metre — sized for small assembly stations, benchtop presses, or pick-and-place cells. Blanking and muting functions are built in — blanking lets you mask fixed obstructions (e.g., a fixture or conveyor frame) within the detection zone without disabling the entire curtain; muting temporarily suspends the safety output during a material pass cycle, common on palletising or transfer lines. These are configurable via the controller, not hardwired. Operating temperature range of -30°C to 55°C covers freezer-warehouse and unheated factory floor environments. No derating required at the low end; at the high end, ensure the controller and cabling are rated for the same ambient.
