The Omron F3SG4PGA10704L is a Type 4 safety light curtain from the F3SG-PG series, built for point-of-operation guarding on machinery where a 1,070 mm protected height covers a typical vertical opening. Four beams at 300 mm spacing create a detection plane that catches a hand or torso reaching into the hazard zone — the 300 mm gap meets the finger-detection requirements of IEC 61496-1 for applications where larger objects (like a full hand or arm) are the risk, not individual fingers.
Runs on 24V DC, safety outputs rated 300 mA at that voltage — enough to drive a safety relay or PLC input module directly. Response time is 8 ms maximum, which for a 4-beam curtain means the machine stops fast enough for most perimeter and access applications. The 870 nm IR LED emitter is invisible to the operator, reducing distraction on the line.
