The Omron F3SJ-A1380P25-TS is a Type 4 safety light curtain from the F3SJ-A series, rated for hand protection with a 25 mm detection capability — that means it catches a finger or hand reaching past the plane, not just a full arm. With 69 infrared beams at a 20 mm pitch, it covers a 1380 mm protective height, enough to guard a typical machine access zone or a conveyor pick station. Operating range runs from 0.2 m to 9.0 m, so it fits both tight robot cells and longer tunnel guarding. Blanking and muting functions are built in — blanking lets you ignore fixed obstructions (a machine frame or fixture) inside the field, while muting temporarily suspends the curtain during a pallet pass-through. That saves adding a separate bypass module. The 24 VDC supply is standard for safety circuits; power it from the same PS that feeds the safety relay or controller.
Mounting and environment fit
Rated IP65 — dust-tight and water-resistant, so it handles washdown zones and dusty packaging lines without a secondary enclosure. Mounting brackets are standard for the F3SJ series; alignment aids (the built-in indicator LEDs) speed the initial setup.
