What this light curtain does
The Omron F3SJ-E0705P25 is a 25 mm detection-capability safety light curtain rated for hand protection, covering a 705 mm protective height with 34 beams spaced at a 20 mm pitch. It operates from 0.2 m out to 7.0 m, so it fits guarding zones where the operator needs to reach into the area but the machine must stop before fingers get to the pinch point. That 25 mm spec means it catches a hand-sized object — finger-protection class per IEC 61496 — and the 20 mm beam pitch keeps the gaps small enough that a hand can't slip through undetected.
Runs on 24 VDC supply and carries an IP65 rating — dust-tight and protected against water jets, so it handles washdown environments on packaging lines, conveyor in-feeds, or automated assembly cells. The 0.2 m minimum range means you can mount it close to the hazard zone without losing detection; the 7 m max range covers longer guarding spans across a machine opening.
