Three-phase heater switching on DIN rail
The Omron G3PE-215B-3N is a three-phase solid state contactor rated for heater loads up to 15 A per phase at 100-240 VAC. The 12-24 VDC input side means it can be driven directly from a PLC digital output or a temperature controller without an interposing relay. It snaps onto a DIN track (DIN track mounting), which keeps panel layout clean and simplifies replacement — no separate heatsink or contactor base to bolt down.
Zero-cross switching and isolation
The zero cross function turns the load on only when the AC waveform crosses zero, which minimises inrush current and radiated EMI — a practical advantage when switching resistive heater banks that otherwise draw a cold surge. Isolation between the control and load circuits is handled by a phototriac coupler, so the 12-24 VDC control side stays electrically separate from the mains-powered heater circuit. A yellow LED operation indicator on the housing gives a quick visual check that the control signal is present — useful during commissioning or fault-finding without reaching for a meter.
