3-phase heater control SSR with zero-cross switching
The Omron G3PE-225B-2N is a 3-phase heater control solid-state relay (SSR) rated for 25 A load current at 40 °C, switching 100-240 VAC loads from a 12-24 VDC control signal. The zero-cross function minimizes switching transients, making it suited for resistive heater banks in industrial ovens, packaging seal bars, and process heating zones. Input side accepts 12-24 VDC (operating range 9.6-30 VDC) and draws 10 mA max at 24 VDC. The release voltage is 1 VDC min, so the SSR drops out cleanly on a low signal — no partial conduction from a slow-decaying control voltage. Output is rated 25 A continuous at 40 °C, with an inrush withstand of 220 A (60 Hz, 1 cycle) and permissible I²t of 260 A²s. Minimum load current is 0.2 A — below that, the triac may not latch on reliably, so verify the heater's cold resistance draws at least that much.
Screw terminals accept power and control wiring. The phototriac isolation between input and output eliminates mechanical contact wear — no contact bounce, no arc, no replacement cycle from cycling heater loads.
