3-Phase SSR for Heater Control
The Omron G3PE-235B-3N is a 3-phase solid state relay designed specifically for heater control applications, carrying a 35 A load current at 40 °C across a 100 to 240 VAC output range. The input accepts 12 to 24 VDC (9.6 to 30 VDC operating range) and draws 10 mA max at 24 VDC, with a guaranteed operate voltage of 9.6 VDC max and release at 1 VDC min. This means the relay switches cleanly on a standard 24 VDC PLC output without needing an interposing relay — the 10 mA draw is well within the typical 0.5 A per-channel limit of most digital output cards.
The zero-cross function means the SSR switches on at the AC voltage zero point, minimizing inrush and electrical noise — critical when controlling heaters near sensitive PLC or instrumentation wiring in the same enclosure. The phototriac isolation provides optical separation between the 24 VDC control side and the 100-240 VAC power side, which simplifies panel layout: you can run the DC control wiring alongside the AC power wiring without special segregation, as long as basic wireway separation is maintained.
