Power Controller with Integrated SSR and Heater Fault Detection
The Omron G3PW-A245EC-C-FLK is a chassis-mount power controller from the G3PW series, rated for an input range of 1 to 45 A and accepting a 100 to 240 VAC supply. It integrates two solid-state relay outputs, eliminating the need for a separate SSR module in the panel, and supports both On/Off and Phase Control methods for load regulation. The unit includes event input and heater fault detection — the latter monitors current draw to identify open or degraded heater elements, a common failure mode in resistive heating applications such as extruder barrels, packaging seal bars, and industrial ovens. Communication is via RS-485 using the CompoWay/F protocol, allowing the controller to be integrated into a multi-drop network for centralized monitoring and setpoint adjustment. The three-digit red LED display provides local readout of load current or set value.
Operating Environment and Compliance
Rated for an ambient operating temperature range of -15°C to 55°C, the unit is suitable for unconditioned industrial enclosures. The 1 to 45 A input range covers a broad span of resistive heating loads; derate per the thermal curve above 40°C ambient.
