The Omron G3PW-A245EC-S-FLK is a Power Controller in the G3PW series, designed to regulate current to resistive heater loads using On/Off or Phase Control methods. It accepts a 100~240VAC supply and handles a 1~45A input range, making it suitable for medium-current heating applications in industrial ovens, packaging sealers, and plastic molding machines. Two solid-state outputs switch the load without mechanical contacts, so there is no contact wear or arcing — a key advantage for frequent cycling in heater control. The LED display shows three red characters for local readout of current or setpoint.
The 1~45A input range covers most single-phase resistive heater banks up to about 10 kW at 230 VAC. If your load draws less than 1 A, the controller may not regulate accurately — check the minimum load specification in the full manual. The Phase Control method allows smooth power ramping, which reduces thermal shock to heater elements and improves temperature stability compared to simple On/Off cycling. RS-485 communication via CompoWay/F protocol lets the controller talk to a PLC or HMI for remote setpoint adjustment and monitoring. This is the same protocol used across Omron's temperature controller line, so integration with an existing Omron network is straightforward. Event Input and Heater Fault Detection are built in — the controller can accept a remote start/stop signal and alarm if a heater element opens or current drops below a threshold.
Chassis mount — the unit bolts to a panel or backplate, not a DIN rail. Screw terminals accept stranded or solid wire; strip length and torque values are marked on the housing. Operating range is -15°C to 55°C, so it can live inside a non-conditioned electrical enclosure as long as ambient stays below 55°C.
No end-of-life notice or successor has been issued.
