The Omron G3ZA-8A203-FLK-UTU is a power controller from the G3ZA series, designed to drive up to eight external solid-state relays (SSRs) via its solid-state voltage outputs. It accepts a universal AC supply from 85 to 264 VAC, so it works across global line voltages without a transformer tap change. Communication runs over RS-485 using the CompoWay/F protocol, which means it integrates into a multi-drop network of Omron temperature controllers or a PLC master without a separate protocol converter.
The eight voltage outputs are intended to gate external SSRs — they don't switch load current directly. If your BOM calls for a controller that fires a bank of SSRs for multi-zone heater control (extruder barrels, ovens, packaging seal bars), this is the part. The 85-264 VAC supply range covers 100 V, 110 V, 200 V, and 240 V nominal systems without rewiring. Mounting is either chassis-mount or snap-on DIN rail (35 mm), so it fits a standard panel layout. The IP20 enclosure means finger-safe for the panel builder but not for washdown environments — keep it inside a cabinet. If ambient near the panel exceeds 55°C, you'll need to derate or relocate. Termination is screw-terminal, not spring-cage, so the wireman needs a standard slotted or Pozidriv driver; torque to the panel spec, not just snug.
This is not an NRND or last-time-buy situation. Submit an RFQ for current pricing and lead time.
Integration notes
On a DIN rail, the G3ZA-8A203-FLK-UTU occupies roughly the width of a standard 45 mm enclosure. The RS-485 port is non-isolated in many Omron power controllers; check the manual for grounding recommendations to avoid ground loops in a multi-drop string. Control method is On/Off, so no PID loop inside this box — the temperature or process loop lives upstream in the PLC or a dedicated controller like the E5CC-T series.
