Safety expansion for SIL3 systems
The G9SX-EX401-RC DC24 is a safety expansion module in the G9SX series, rated for Category 4, PLe, SIL3 — the highest integrity tier for machine safety circuits. It adds four solid-state safety outputs and one auxiliary solid-state output to an existing safety controller, expanding I/O without re-spinning the safety logic.
What the safety rating means for fit
Category 4 / PLe / SIL3 means the module is designed for single-fault-tolerant architectures with 100 % diagnostic coverage. On a glass furnace, that covers the safety-rated interlock chain on the burner management system or the melt-zone access gate. The solid-state outputs switch faster than relay contacts and hold up under repeated cycling — no contact wear to track.
