Overview
It is rated IP20 for in-cabinet mounting on a DIN rail and terminates field wiring through screw terminals. This module is part of the SmartSlice I/O family, designed to distribute I/O points on a fieldbus backbone without occupying a CPU slot.
As a SmartSlice interface module the GRT1-PRT(NL) sits on the I/O bus and provides a 24 V DC supply rail for downstream slice I/O units. It handles the bus communication and power distribution, allowing digital and analog slices to be added in a daisy-chain without separate power feeds per slice. The screw terminals accept field wiring for the supply and bus connections. The module is bulk-packaged, intended for integration into a larger panel build where the installer provides the enclosure and cabling.
Applications
SmartSlice interface modules like the GRT1-PRT(NL) are used in distributed I/O architectures on packaging lines, material-handling conveyors, and assembly stations where the controller is remote from the field devices. The module reduces point-to-point wiring by placing I/O slices near the sensors and actuators.
