What the timer does on the DIN rail
The Omron H3CR-A8E AC/DC24-48 is a multi-function, socket-mounted time-delay relay in the H3CR-A series, delivering a single SPDT (1 Form C) contact rated 5 A at 250 VAC — meaning it can drive a directly switched load such as a contactor coil, solenoid, or indicator lamp without an interposing relay in most panel wiring. Timing is programmable from 0.05 seconds up to 300 hours on a hand-dial adjustment, so the same device covers sub-second pulse stretching for jam protection as well as multi-day process sequencing.
Wiring it into the panel
The supply accepts 24 to 48 VAC and 12 to 48 VDC on a single pair of pins, which lets the same timer ride on either a 24 VDC control bus or a 24/48 VAC aux source without a different model — useful when retrofitting older AC-wired panels. Termination is an 8-pin octal plug-in into a matching socket, so the timer pulls out for service without disturbing field wiring; a panel builder can pre-wire a row of sockets and stock the relay as a swappable spare.
