Twin-timer function and contact rating
The Omron H3CR-F8N AC24-48/DC12-48 is a repeat-cycle twin timer in the H3CR-F series: it runs a cyclic on/off sequence rather than a single-shot delay, with the timing range spanning 0.05 s to 30 h on a hand dial. Output is DPDT (2 Form C) on a mechanical relay, rated 5 A at 250 VAC — meaning the contacts switch a low-power control load directly, so a separate interposing relay is needed when driving anything heavier than a contactor coil or solenoid.
Wiring the supply and socket
Power input is dual-range: 24 to 48 VAC or 12 to 48 VDC, with timing initiated by the supply voltage itself rather than a separate trigger terminal. That single-supply-initiate arrangement is what makes it a repeat-cycle device — applying power starts the first cycle, which then re-triggers until power is removed. Mounting is socketable on an 8-pin octal base: the timer body plugs into a panel-mounted or DIN-rail-mounted socket so the field wiring lands on the socket, not the timer, and a swap takes seconds with no re-stripping.
Sourcing and status
Omron lists the H3CR-F line as mature but still active, so the part is on the manufacturer's books as a running model rather than a discontinued legacy.
